Mesotherapy / Cell Boost MesoVytal Skin Needling Facial
One of the very best Anti-Ageing treatments to have been developed in recent years is MesoVytal Cell Boost; it is a mechanised way to deliver active ingredients into the skin, with minimal trauma and down time. I am currently the only therapist in Devon and Cornwall to offer this treatment*

It’s literally like giving your skin a drink…
We all know the benefits of drinking less alcohol, giving up cigarettes and of course staying out of the sun? All of these activities de-hydrate the skin and have a major effect on its appearance. You know how good you look and feel if you only “Detox” for a day or two? It shows in your face, your skin glows, you feel younger, fresher, and the skin is more luminous….
How realistic is it though, to sustain this regime indefinitely? We all “fall off the wagon” at some point. What if I could literally get under your skin & plump it up? From the inside out?
This treatment was developed to solve the problem that conventional methods are unable to deliver, to implement bigger particles of product, deep enough into the dermal layer.
Particles larger than 200nm cannot penetrate the Epidermis. This means that substances such as vitamins and Hyaluronic acid do not pass through the Epidermis, unless they are injected (as with fillers or Mesotherapy), or holes are punched (as with Fractional laser or dermal rollers) or the delivery is enhanced with laser treatment.
Not everyone wants to have injections? If you fear injections or the ‘tell-tale’ bruising and pain that may be associated with fillers, then the Cell Boost Meso Vytal treatment is definitely for you.
The MESO Vytal needle plate feels like a gentle prickly massage but the effects can be stunning and easily compete with what you know from deep-skin injections. Another major benefit is the eye area (where we all have more lines) can be treated, right up to the lash line. There is little or no down time, you could literally have this treatment in your lunch hour!
How does the Meso Vytal Treatment Work?
Step 1. The AHA Peel (Vytal = Mild 5%)
This peel is applied to the skin and left for 3-10mins (depending on skin Type). The dryer and thicker the skin the longer it will take to “pink up”.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) work mainly as an exfolient. They cause the surface cells of the epidermis (Stratum Corneum) to become “unglued”, allowing the dead skin cells to slough off allowing regrowth of new skin. AHA’s may even stimulate the production of collagen and Elastin. AHA’s can improve wrinkling, mottled pigmentation of photo damaged skin and superficial roughness.
In skin care products AHA’s work best in a concentration of 5%-8% and a PH of 3-4.
Step 2. The Meso Vytal Cell Boost Treatment
After the AHA Peel is thoroughly removed, the Serum is applied to the skin. Using the Meso Vytal system, a needle cartridge with 18 points on a convex plate is used to work the serum into the skin at a depth of 0.2-0.3mm (needle depth is 0.5mm). This ensures the product is placed into the Dermal-Epidermal junction where it can be absorbed to create maximum beneficial effect.
Step 3. Aftercare
At the end of your treatment you will see slight redness and a small amount of swelling around areas that have been specifically targeted (wrinkles, scars). This is normal and should reduce within a couple of hours. The aftercare cream is gently applied to the skin, you will be given the rest of the tube to use at home.
Aftercare contains Panthanol, Macadamia nut oil and Grape seed oil, these further hydrate and moisturise the skin.
Which MESO vytal substance is the best one for my skin?
MESO Vytal Blue Med, contains Hyaluronic acid and ‘non toxic’ Hexapeptides*, to reduce wrinkles and stimulate the body’s own collagen production.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a viscous Mucopolysaccharide that happens naturally in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid facilitates the retention of moisture in the fluid-heavy areas between cells, referred to as the ‘extra-cellular matrix’ and aids in Collagen development. Hyaluronic Acid moistens the collagen and elastin in your cells and helps maintain a smooth and youthful looking skin.
‘Blue Med’ is best for older skin 36 years + who have signs of ageing, wrinkles, skin that is beginning to sag and dryness. This serum is also very beneficial for scars and stretch marks.
MESO Vytal ‘fresh’ is a sophisticated composition of vitamins and supplies the skin with essential nutrients, Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants, but your body can not produce it, what better way to introduce it directly where it can benefit you most, your skin!
‘Fresh’, contains Coenzyme Q10 (another anti-oxidant which helps to neutralize free radicals/one of the causes of ageing). CoQ10 may boost skin repair and regeneration. Furthermore it is a small molecule that can easily penetrate into the skin cells.
‘Fresh’ contains amino acids, which acts like a repair treatment from within, it nourishes the skin, strengthens the connective tissue and keeps the skin smooth and elastic, it is preventative and will help keep ageing at bay.
It is the perfect treatment for young skin 18-36 years.
MESO Vytal ‘pure’ is the spa treatment to protect and refresh the skin. Packed by nature with amino acids and extracts from soybeans and yams, it is advisable for recovering dull, tired and dehydrated skin and helps to visibly lighten it up.
Soya Bean extract has multiple benefits and is used in many skin care products, it can help to lighten the skin, it forms a protective effect from photo damage and possibly skin cancer. Yam roots increase moisture retention and boosts skins elasticity, clarity and radiance.
‘Pure’, is also perfect for sensitive older skins, especially when used in conjunction with Blue MED serum.

FAQ’s
Does it hurt?
No, the needles are plastic and less invasive than other skin needling techniques
How long is the treatment?
Total treatment time is between 30-45minutes, this includes Pre-peel time.
What will I look like afterwards?
You may look slightly pink/red, areas that have been targeted may be more red, but this will quickly subside. Areas of scarring may be slightly swollen and may take a day or two to recover. It is recommended to leave the skin clear of make-up for as long as possible, preferably overnight. If you need to disguise redness, please only use mineral make-up. You may experience some peeling and this is very normal, It is the dehydrated skin leaving the Stratum Corneum ( outermost layer).
Why is MesoVytal different to Dermal Rollers?
Because Vytal is less invasive, there is no need for numbing cream, which means the products are more easily absorbed and able to work more effectively. The small contoured needle head means treatment is more specific, with fine lines, scars, open pores and even the eyelids can be targeted.
When will I see the results?
You may see results after 1 treatment, however the effects are culmative. You will notice a difference after 2 treatments and by session/week 3-4 you will see clearly visible results.
Please see the before and after photographs included, these are taken after 6 sessions. Please also remember that the skin takes approximately 28-35 days to go through a cycle of cellular renewal (the basal cells moving up to the surface) therefore the skin continues to improve over a period of months post treatment course.
What aftercare/products do I use?
You will be given an aftercare cream, it is not necessary to purchase specialist products, you may continue to use your chosen skincare regime. However they must contain an SPF of 30 or above to protect the surface of the skin and guard against hyperpigmentation.
I always take “Before and After” photographs of all my clients, these will help you to make decisions and of course they are private and confidential, they will not be used for display purposes without your permission.
