M.C.A. For Wrinkles
*Multi-tripanic Collagen Actuation / Dry needling (Derived from the Greek word, Trypanon, to bore).
WRINKLES
Dry needling is the process of using micro-entomology needles to stimulate collagen growth within the Dermis thereby causing the wrinkled skin to plump up. Because your body’s collagen is doing the work, most of the restructuring will occur in the first 4 to 6 weeks. The area will continue to restructure at a slower rate over a period of several months.
Dry Needling (MCA) has been practiced by Micro-pigmentation professionals since the late 1980’s.
Dry needling (MCA) is a cosmetic, not medical, procedure to improve the appearance of wrinkles and scars, with or without camouflage pigments being implanted.
The equipment, techniques and hygiene standards used to do these cosmetic procedures are the same as those to do Semi- permanent makeup
MCA is an advanced technique, as is camouflage, and therefore specialized training is required. I completed my advanced training in MCA in June 2011
MCA is essentially no more invasive or damaging than the use of electrolysis and/or microdermabrasion.
The Process
The procedure, which is not painful, involves anaesthetising the skin before treatment to minimise discomfort. Using the “Precision Plus” Micro-pigmentation machine, I gently run a very fine needle through the deepest part of the wrinkle, this causes the skin’s natural defence mechanism to try and heal the mild trauma by producing collagen. The area will be a little red, but heals very quickly. (Clients are given a petroleum based ointment containing vitamins A and D to apply at home which aids the healing process).
In the past wrinkles could be filled, plumping up the skin temporarily, or peels were used to remove the top layer of skin to make the wrinkle appear more shallow, with MCA your bodies natural collagen is stimulated and production increases by 1000%. This causes the wrinkle to plump out naturally over the next few weeks as the skin goes through its renewal process. 6 weeks later the treatment is repeated and a third and final treatment is completed 6 weeks after that.
Top up sessions are only required yearly, the skin texture continues to improve over the next 6- 8 months as cellular renewal and collagen production is boosted.
This approach is more targeted than using a “Dermal Roller” as only the actual wrinkle itself is treated, therefore, less trauma, faster recovery and a visibly noticeable results.
I always take “Before and After” photographs of all my clients, these will help you to make decisions and of course they are private and confidential, they will not be used for display purposes without your permission.
